Here we go again!

Yes, it's true. my Americana Trek is all over, and I am yet again in a state of semi-depression. It's so hard when you spend so much time with a group of people then all of a sudden you all have to disintigrate and we're yet again left on opposite sides of the world.
however, i have to write about the last week, and fortunately I am almost sober (give me a break, I'm in San Francisco!!!) and able to spend 24 mins writing about what I've done! So here's the scoop. Vegas was in fact the coolest place ever, it's like a theme park for adults there. I drove a Hummer. On an off-road track. which tipped u up sideways. Oh my goodness, I was just so over-excited by that, it was the most coolest thing I've ever done. I also drove a Corvette, which was very cool but not as cool as the Hummer. I have pics of me driving both so when I get a chance I'll put them up (still no USB drive!!! Why???!!). They tried to make me go on the Stratosphere ride that tilts you up on the side, but there was no chance! I went up all 80something floors, but would NOT be held off the edge. look it up on the internet, it's mental!
After we left Vegas we drove to Yosemite (12 HOURS!!!) but it was all made worthwhile because as we were driving to our campsite, through the park, our Trek leader Neal stopped the van and pointed out a Grizzly Bear!!! He said he's been there loads and has never seen a Grizzly, so we were very lucky.
we did a couple of hikes in Yosemite, up to some waterfalls which were so beautiful, then the following day we saw Giant Sequoias, and were driven up to Glacier Point, where we saw the waterfalls we'd walked up to from higher up, it was just amazing. the views and the scenery in Yosemite are just so fantastic, I run out of words for them!
However, sleeping in tents in Yosemite in September is something I would never reccommend, even to my worst enemy. I was so cold I wanted to die. Until I arrived in Lake Tahoe. there I stayed sat by the fire until 1am simply because I did not want to get into my tent. I wore the following to bed that night: thin trousers, jeans and pyjama bottoms, plus a t shirt, a fleece that I bought for $20 that day and a big hoody. and I was still cold, even with my sleeping bag tied around my face! i was not a happy bunny that day, I do admit.
San Francisco was next and we all had to say our farewells after walking the Golden Gate bridge, and going on a sunset cruise on a catamaran. I love San Francisco, it's very cool, and we went on the tram, and went to Alcatraz. So I leave Frisco tomorrow morning with the Aussie from the Trek, and we're off to LA to meet up with a lad off the trek who has hired a Harley to do the drive - how cool is that?! sadly no room for me and Tegan on the bike (and we couldn't convince him to hire a sidecar for us!) but I'm sure we'll have as much fun. On a Greyhound bus. For 11 hours....
